A simple flyer to be handed out to the patrons of the May Gallery

Gerald Fritzler is one of the most celebrated watercolor artists on the world. While he made a name for himself in more traditional painting, he has now ventured into the world of abstraction.

Teaming up with the Vilar Performing Arts Center, Claggett/Rey Gallery is presenting the new works of Fritzler in the May Gallery, an exclusive area for major patrons of the center.

Fritzler’s work speaks volumes for itself, chromatically and compositionally. To design a visual identity for the exhibition meant not getting in the way of the pieces. Simple, but well considered typography and liberal white space allows the paintings to remain the main focus.

The only place I wanted to bring any immediate visual interest was a simple, but fun wordmark. The jumbled forms and rhythmic flow of the mark reflect the need to inspect the pieces and their inherent musicality.

I used simple, clean framing for presenting the pieces as starkly as possible.

Simplicity remained the name of the game through print and digital presentation

Special consideration was given to the exhibition's web presence.

Simple media queries ensure that viewers across a variety of devices can enjoy viewing the pieces digitally.
